Can't be too happy about that one, Jim!!!.

How we doing in the Ryder Cup?

( Chinese invented Golf in the 13th Century apparently.cheesy.gif )

On me 'ead Cesc. Where's Ivanovic.

Bang.

I like Filipe Luis. Modest, but very classy.

In the fullness of time, Dave Azpul will move right, Filipe Luis will occupy LB and Courtois will be one of the best GKs we have ever seen.

In the meantime, Ivanovic will bust his @rse ( absolute class act ), Costa will score goals and Cesc will play the best football he has ever played anywhere.

If Mourinho doesn't know what he's doing on all corners of the park, I'm a Portugese speaking Spanish-Brazilian.

That's how I see it.

Does Mourinho think he can win the Champions League with this team?

Up to you oldgit. How about some more positive stuff about the team rather than this kind of negative stuff which posters from other teams are quite adept at:

"I didn't see the need to resign Drogba unless it was in a coaching capacity, but what I've seen, he's now a liability on the pitch. The way he muscled everybody out of the way for the free kick was nauseating. I think it was a case of Mourinho getting all misty eyed over the good 'ole days."

I disagree strongly with this comment. Let's see what Drogba's contribution is over the season before writing him off.

We will see how many goals he scores or not scores. What will be more difficult to measure of course will be his contribution to the team effort when he's on the training ground, in the dressing room and on the bench.

Legend. Drogba in a Chelsea shirt is worth the cost of a season ticket alone. If anybody is getting misty eyed it's Abramovich not Mourinho.

Bladdy good show I say.

It's football. Anybody would think it's a business.

3-0

Costa 8 goals from 6. Unless my analytical skills are letting me down, that projects at over 50 for the season.

But never mind, we have others who score too.

Great game from Willian.

Cream rising to the surface. City dangerous.

Holiday mate, holiday.

We are discussing the BPL on this forum. facepalm.gif

(To be fair though we might find the occasional reference to the Chamipiones League on the Chelsea thread.

What's the Portugese for holiday I wonder. smile.png )

In my book, supporting a football team isn't blindly accepting anything that the present management team do. I say present because ALL managers make mistakes, even Mourinho, and he will, some day in the future be gone.

I've been a supporter of Chelsea, through the bad times as well as the good, for 60 years and multiple kicks in the b******s have made me cautious in my approach to the past and present teams. Things can unravel very quickly. It only needs Costa to aggravate the injury he has and we are back to where we are last season, an ageing centre forward (Etoo, who incidently, was better striker than Drogba was, amassing 174 goals in 234 domestic appearances) and a striker who isn't in the same class as Costa.

You think I'm being counter productive in my criticism of Drogba (the rest of my post was very positive, I would add). I call it being realistic. If we wanted to retain a true 'legend' who was past his best, but would have had the respect of the rest of the squad, Lampard would have been a better proposition.

P45, Mourinho is good but he doesn't walk on water. Your enthusiasm for everything Chelsea is commendable but your ebullient and gushing posts do open you up for ridicule.

Message understood oldgit. Let us not fight in the stands.

It's going to take a very good team to beat Chelsea mind.

Yeh, on occasion we'll do a Gerrard and slip up.

We are looking very good ATM, but the 2010-11 season is still fresh in my mind. After 6 games we had scored 21 and let in only 2.

Yesterday's game was the type of game we would have struggled in last season. Villa were parking the bus but we could find the gaps. If Costa can keep this up he will become a Chelsea great. Interestingly most of Costas goals are quite ordinary, but he just seems to know where to be. I'm wondering if his injury is a smokescreen because it doesn't effect him on the pitch. Does anyone know anymore than just a hamstring injury??

On another note, what do they put in the water at Southampton? Truly remarkable stuff. Sell most of their good players, get in a new manager, tipped to be relegated, then play better than last season!!! Wow. I'm impressed. The Atletico of the epl.

Totally agree. Koeman at Southampton is obviously very impressive.

Costa's hamstring? Don't know. Possible Mourinho is trying to extricate him from International duty. He managed it with Hazard.

I've been thinking about what oldgit said. All good stuff. But it does seem to me that Chelsea FC are in a better shape than they have ever been.

The b**ger is we are up against some highly developed opposition in the shape of City and the big Germans and Spanish.

Reckon the game is evolving fast now.

Who better to lead than Mourinho?

My rucking in the stands is in the distant past now, mate. I agree that we are looking the part now. The players will not have an easier time all season than they did yesterday. It was a 'hands and heels' win.

Yes. Fair point oldgit.

But I think some teams will not find it so easy against the Villas of this world.

No point me getting a season ticket for the Bridge. Best I can do is try and apply some positive energy from my gaff in Thailand.

Fingers crossed. It is not going to be boring, that's for sure.

With the risk of not sounding too boring, I remember my dad,my uncles and me getting to Stamford Bridge a bit late for the kick off a couple of times, and my old man shouting to the crowd in the stands,"Pass him down the front, will yer?". And with that,I was lifted up and passed over the heads of everybody to the front.

It is now up to Mourinho and Abramovich to make history. smile.png

Next up, Sporting Lisbon. Should be right up Jose's street.

Thanks.

OK.

2 days to go. What you doing now Jose?

Applying horse placenta to Costa's hamstring!!!

Horse sh*t, bull sh*t, on me 'ead Cesc.

Where's that little Brazilian Filipe Luis?

Well fkc me. He's done an Azpuliceta for me. Put it on a plate.

Anybody criticise Ivanovic, and I will have their guts for garters.

You think I know more than Mourinho.

Jose reported on CFC.com. 'Costa to start against Lisbon, and hopefully against Arsenal.'

Drogba out for two weeks having aggravated ankle injury in training yesterday.

Remy confirms failed medical for Liverpool in the US was due to a heart condition that many top athletes have.

London heart specialist says 'No Problem'.

As I thought in the beginning. Many highly trained athletes have heart electrics that are not the same as ordinary people.

US doctors go cautious because litigation is rampant in the US.

Liverpool's mistake was getting him checked out at Harvard University Hospital instead of Royal Liverpool.

Maybe the doc in the US was called Jo Lasso.

I'm starting to think that this hamstring injury is trumped up nonsense.

Mourinho is a lot of things but he's no fool, so why would you play a guy tonight with Arsenal up at the weekend when he can't train properly and has an iffy hamstring.

Sounds like Mourinho mind games to me.

Yes carmine. I'm beginning to wonder too. He extricated Hazard from International duty recently.

Maybe he's up to the same thing.

I hope so, because it would be a bldy shame for Costa not to be able to show what he can do in the Prem, even more than it would it be for Chelsea.

The medical science doesn't stack uo for me. You either rest him for a few weeks and get him back 100% or you live on frayed nerves ( or frayed hamstring.) facepalm.gif
