I have visited Dr. Pavitra at Bangkok Hospital. She was very helpful and much better than my previous Chiang Mai dentist.

She has a Master of Restorative Dentistry from the Univ. of Michigan (USA) and her DDS from Chulalongkorn. I think she used to practice in the USA for a short while. I had no problems with her English.

I recommend her. You can get her schedule (Su, Tues, & Th) and more info off the hospital's site: http://www.bangkokhospital-chiangmai.com/en/centers-and-clinics/index.php#ui-tabs-1

The thing with dentists in Thailand is that there are so many really good ones that I find it hard to be too worried who I use, over twelve years here I've seen maybe half a dozen and all bar one were excellent - Dr Benjaporn at Elite Smile is my current standard setter, hard to beat.

Thank you all for pointing out Dr. Pavitra at Bangkok Hospital . No only makes her appearance alone pain more tolerable but also her competence ist trust instilling.

May I ask what you had done and the cost please?

We talked about the cause of a tooth related gum problem and what needs to be done. The discussion alone gave me reason for confidence, No cost estimate asked for. We will see next week

talking about money are we? I thought that was below the class of a proper Englishman. Next thing you know, you will want a bank account. And a Brit actually getting his teeth fixed? Time for some extra yellow coloring for the fillings.

There's a clue perhaps in the posters name, perhaps redirect your bile at a different nationality!

OK, just thought because you said her appearance made the pain more tolerable and she was competent, that maybe you had treatment.

Competence , I can very well established simply through a talk.

How do you determine if a dentist treated you competently?

Poor craftsmanship will show itself often years later, costing dearly

Cost? If my gut tells me I´m in good hands, it costs what it costs.

No problem about the cost, as you say it is what it is and if you don't want to share, it's your choice entirely.

Competence is the ability to do something successfully or efficiently. I know a bit about dentistry, not much but I

know what questions to ask and I could still choose the wrong person.

Anyway, all the best with your treatment.

the only difference is the shackle marks on the ankles, and a little bit of a suntan.
