Thai stock trader jumps to his death after murderous attack on eight months pregnant wife

BANGKOK: -- A Thai man jumped from the 17th floor of a Bangkok condo after seriously attacking his eight months pregnant wife. His mother said she thought he had argued with his wife over stock market losses reported Daily News

Police believe he jumped to escape the consequences of his actions assuming his wife to be dead. But she is now recovering from head wounds in hospital.

Jirawat Phromcharoen, 36, a launderette owner and stock trader from Huay Kwang, was found in a flower bed next to the fifth floor swimming pool of the twenty storey The Leaf condominium in Pattanakarn Road, Suan Luang, Bangkok. Klong Tan police found him in his red pajamas dead from multiple injuries.

In a room on the 17th floor they found signs of a struggle with a lot of blood and broken glass. They were told by condo security that the victim's wife had already been taken to hospital with multiple head wounds.

Ubon Srichai, 39, was recovering in nearby Bangkok Hospital where she was listed as "out of danger".

Security told police that the couple had often argued and on Wednesday night a serious argument and fight was heard. They went to the room and as they were taking the wife to hospital Jirawat jumped to his death "probably believing that his wife was going to die."

Jirawat's mother told police later that her son was being treated by doctors for stress after he had lost money on the stock market. His wife had told him to stop trading and this was what probably led to the argument, she said.

Police are waiting for the wife to recover sufficiently before proceeding with their enquiries.

Fed up of losing face to his wife, friends etc.

There may be many more condo divers around the world in the next few years...the world is drowning in debt...no light at the end of the tunnel...some of those who have bet their life savings (and others) on a bull market will take the easy way out...rather than be torn apart...limb by limb...

If you read the article properly, it says, “… as they were taking the wife to hospital Jirawat jumped to his death…” So, obviously she couldn’t have had a hand in the fatal jump.

Unfortunately exponential growth in jumpers.........just like unwarranted exponential growth in world stock markets......the crash is coming

There are people in this life that due to circumstances fall on hard times or just get down on their luck, make wrong decisions or take gambles and lose. It can happen to any of us, any place at any time, no one can foresee the future and for some life can take them over the edge, (even over the balcony). These people see everything crashing down on them with no escape routes out of their predicaments. I have a lot of compassion and sympathy for these people because absolute despair can make people act in totally irrational and unpredictable ways. i view this in the opposite way you do, as a tragedy not something to gloat over. If you cannot see the sad side of this then I feel sorry for you, you`re a hopeless case.
