Your friend will be asked your full name and what city and country to send the money to.

Then he receives a code and sends you the code.

Once you have the code, go to ANY western union point, they are everywhere.... In that city with your passport and get a form off them... fill it in and write the code in the box, and hand it to the clerk, with your passport and they hand you the cash.

The transfer is instant.... no waiting transfer time.

I have received literally millions of baht over the years via WU.... It really is simple.

It used to be a case of your friend gives the money WU, tells them which corrosponding office it will be picked up at by the other person, gives the persons name and details, and a "password"

Person concerned proves their identity and provide the password and the cash is handed over, the money is not sent, so the money can be picked up immediately, the last time i used WU was over 15 years ago so things may have changed, but above is the basic process...simple but expensive

He can take the money to any location that handles western union. Fill in a form hand over the money and it will on the way to you. You will need the MTCN to pick it up.

No secret word is needed unless the box saying you don't have ID is checked.

Info for the country he is sending from can be found here by selecting the country and language at the top of the page. https://www.westernunion.com/us/en/home.html

It can be sent online from many countries by using a credit card.

It is expensive but easy. There are much cheaper ways.

Such as ? Your post is useless as advice unless you actually give some examples

1) Wire transfers are usually much cheaper. I wire money from Europe to

Thailand for $40 USD flat fee. Regardless if I sent $100 USD or 25,000 USD.

2) Debit Cards. Almost everywhere in Europe you can buy pre-paid debit Cards.

I think they come in 100 and 500 Euro sizes. They are a bit less flexible.

Your friend would have to mail them to you via registered mail ...

Many of these debit cards can be refilled online ...
