IKEA - shopping from Pattaya

Featured Replies

Understand that IKEA Is top notch. Especially beds. I would call their support and talk about assembly and shipping etc. The first condo or house i buy will be Ikea equipped

Have you tried Index? Their merchandise is pretty similar to IKEA and the prices include delivery and installation. We bought most of our furniture there and were pleased with the prices, quality and service.

Index is overpriced and pretend to be Hi-So.

Winner furniture is their sister brand, they are usually in the same building. very similar to Ikea. nicely priced good quality. home delivery and installation included. so if you go Index Living Mall, look for winner Furniture...

They even have their own catalogue, price difference is about 50 % and they are under same roof...... facepalm.gif

I'm an avid fan of Winner. In my opinion, among the second tier furniture stores, which includes SB's Koncept and M@ss, Winner is the clear winner. I will only purchase stuff directly from Index when there is a sale, stuff like curtains and rods.

Ikea doesn't do online as people buy heaps more when actually going to the shop.

Delivery service is correct, not cheap but reasonable.

Assembly service if you like convenience and/or have difficulty reading clear instructions and / or can't properly handle a screwdriver. Only the alignment of doors can be a hassle but with the new Ikea hinges also that's not rocket science anymore.

After service (missing part or so): good.

We used IKEA in San Francisco.

(Total kitchen remodel)

Are happy with the quality and result.

Would expect ikea to be more expensive out here.

Word of advice -- use only people who have experience with ikea. They're not as simple as they look.

We used index for a built in closet. Problem is they sub contract, no nothing it standard & they weren't cheap...

Good luck ... K

You should try SB Furniture for your built-in. I don't believe SB series of furniture are designed by Thais.

When I was considering buying some IKEA furniture a few years ago, I downloaded the .PDF instruction sheets just to see what was involved. A couple pieces (I think it was big wardrobe and a queen-size hinged bed?) the instructions clearly stated it was a two-person project. If you're inclined to do your own installation, you might want to check the downloadable instructions and see what IKEA themselves recommend.
