FATCA form from my bank in Germany

I am British who has lived 40 years in Germany and am now living in Thailand

since 11 years. My German pension gets paid into my German bank account.

I have just received a FATCA form from my German bank, delivered by the reliable

Thai post office on the 28.05 which i am supposed to fill in and send back by the 30.05

I am not American and have nothing to do with America what has this form to do with me?

''The above mentioned person lives in a state other than Germany or the USA and is a tax resident''

tick yes or no. I don't have a tax number in Thailand and have no income from Thailand what do i tick?

Anyone else have this problem?

You are a resident for tax purposes here if you stay more than 180 days in calendar year.

Taxpayers are classified into “resident” and “non-resident”. “Resident” means any person residing in Thailand for a period or periods aggregating more than 180 days in any tax (calendar) year."

I suggest you tick yes.
