webfact
PM says Dhammachayo will finally be arrested 'within his lifetime'BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-locha said Tuesday that he believes Phra Dhammachayo will finally be arrested “within his life time.”He admitted that he was concerned that there might be a violent confrontation between the embattled abbot’s supporters and the officials if they rush to make the arrest.“If the DSI or the police move in (to make the arrest), what will happen? Think about it if someone fired a shot into each side, what will happen? If someone opened fire, then the other side will return fire for self defence and someone who is praying is shot. Do you want that to happen?” said the prime minister. He went on saying that he was not afraid of the prospect of being accused of failing to perform the duty as prescribed in Section 157 of the Criminal Code for not arresting Phra Dhammachayo “because the law states that the officials can wait if the action to be taken may worsen the situation.”The prime minister questioned whether it is right for Wat Dhammakaya to barricade all the entrances to prevent officials from getting in or to set up barbed wires around the temple.Asked whether Dhammachayo will ever be arrested, the prime minister appeared moody and said: “he will definitely be arrested in his life time”.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/content/165507 -- Thai PBS 2016-06-

thesetat2013
It seems as if that temple has made itself nice little stronghold. So who would be in there for just praying and who brings weapons into a temple? Isn't that totally against Buddhism? If they have made a stronghold there then why doesn't the army seal them inside and prevent water, food, worshippers, or anything else from entering the temple? Eventually they would be forced out without life's essentials being brought to them. And why don't the police begin arresting those who have weapons of war in their possession? Clearly that is a violation of the law? There are just too many reasons the temple needs to be raided and that monk arrested.

aussieinthailand
So the junta leader, so-called PM says "he is not afraid of being accused of not performing his duty", HHMmmmmmm Isn't that one of the charges Yingluk is being accused of, DERALITION OF DUTY?????? Then there's the little what if some one fires a shot, what if some gets shot? while praying? He didn't seem to be so concerned when his soldiers were firing at civilians and volunteer's in a temple and people not just shot but killed.... And for the best little chestnut for the people Thailand and the world, good o'l uncle Too comes out, "Dhammachayo will finally be arrested within his life time". What a spectacular and utter ________________________!!!!!! OOooohhhh "AA" and gaol for any Thai that says anything close that describes this snot, and for a falang gaol and fines, loss of any and all assets followed by family's assets then deportation... But it's ok, we have djjamie, smedly, rubl, and er, and um, maybe one or two others who can put a spin on this pearl of a statement from their hero of the nation but some how I reckon they'll do what they are famous for, staying very very quiet when he comes out with these gems.... Winniedapu
Prayuth really needs to put a clamp on his mouth. What he says here is an embarrassment. If he talks drivel like this to the Thai press, whatever is this clown saying to other countries while he's strutting his stuff on the international stage. At Thai taxpayers expense. If he makes me cringe, and David Cameron increased my tolerance of stupidity out of sight, what is he doing to international diplomats? They must be laughing their @$$e$ off. klauskunkel
He admitted that he was concerned that there might be a violent confrontation between the embattled abbot’s supporters and the officials if they rush to make the arrest. aussieinthailand
I hope, there is something lost in translation! Otherwise...oh boy.... Ahhh you falang, yon no understan, this is Thailan, you eat bread we eat rice, So this bloke lead yet another coup in Thailand under the pretext of safety and security of the people, seems there maybe a safety and security issue at the temple as well as people breaking how many laws like obstructing the police in their duty etc? so what's the problem? The other funny thing is this bloke has made it a crime to hurt Thailand's image,,, so eh, hmmm what would the average punter think the PM is doing to Thailand's image now? and I'd love to hear some of the leaders of the world's comments on O'l uncle Too's idea's on security. Yo,,, you few junta fan boy's, HELLOOOOO,,,, YOUHOOOOOOOO,,,, come out come out where ever you are....... Aww c'mon fella's come and spin this and entertain us with your wisdom,,,, ahh well, If ya can't dazzle em with brains, baffle em with B___*T. Artisi
Just send in the military rangers to do the easy work that the BIB seem to find all too hard. And stop worrying about someone who is praying getting shot, just weasel words. Give a 30 minute warning for all those not involved to leave the flying saucer before sending in the troops. Just get it over and done with stop pissing about like a pack of big bloused girls.

ALFREDO
Justice for possible embezzlement of a very high sum at any price? I remember some incidents in the USA in similar circumstances, where the authorities went in with an "iron fist" for more substantial reasons maybe and came out with some dead or injured bodies from themselves and with dozens of dead, killed or burned bodies, even children and women from the people who defended themselves or made or where forced to make suicide with fire. He may speak sometime a bit childish the PM, but there can be a little wisdom in the words. Same time, there is a second stand off with monks in Kanchanaburi =Tiger Temple=, seems the slow approach over many month works there now and getting a start. https://www.yahoo.com/news/big-cats-removed-thailands-infamous-tiger-temple-132832868.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/921664-about-20-tigers-are-expected-to-be-moved-out-of-temple-on-tuesday/?utm_source=newsletter-20160601-0706&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=news Edited June 1, 2016 by ALFREDO
