Story by Vanessa Saenngarm

PATTAYA: -- A stray baby dolphin was found washed up on Pattaya Beach.

On 31 May 2016 Marine Rescue and Sawangboriboon Volunteers were informed by speedboat business owners that there was a stray baby dolphin stranded on the Pattaya Beach.

When the rescue team arrived at the scene, some locals on the beach were trying to help the dolphin by using wet clothes to wrap it and drag it back out to sea, about 500 meters from the beach.

sad.png I think to many boats!

"The Bottlenose Dolphin about 1 meter in length, also had a slight wound on the right side and fin and seemed to be in a state of shock."

The dolphin was 1/2 km from the water? Is there any place in Pattaya that the beach is that deep?

From 1986 to the present I have never seen a dolphin in the waters surrounding Jomtien-Pattaya. I am surprised to know that at least one of them tried to swim in these grossly polluted waters. I wonder if they held its head under the water to try to get it to breathe (would not surprise me). RIP.

Any thing living placed in the water in the water in Pattaya would surely be dead in a few hours.
