BANGKOK: -- Followers of Wat Dhammakaya today (Monday) lodged a complaint with Pathum Thani’s Klong Luang district police against Phra Payorm Kalayano, the abbot of Wat Wat Suan Kaew, over the monk’s alleged distortion of facts that causes damages to Phra Dhammachayo.

Mrs Kannikar Yoosri who represented the followers presented to Pol Maj Suvit Pakamhaeng, the enquiry inspector of Klong Luang police, a copy of Post Today newspaper dated May 5 which carried Phra Payorm’s interview.

She claimed that, in the interview, the abbot of Wat Suan Kaew gave false information accusing Phra Dhammachayo of insulting other senior monks.

Commenting to the complaint against him, the outspoken Phra Payorm said that he was not worried with the legal action against him. He said that if the law of the land resembles a spider’s web which only traps insects and small animals but not big animals, then he is ready to be like an insect.

The abbot of Wat Suan Kaew claimed that the comments he made in the interview with Post Today regarding Phra Dhammachayo were lifted from the comments from many other people.

He noted that there are many other things about Phra Dhammachayo that he had not talked about. He shot back at Wat Dhammakaya’s followers questioning whether it was true that their abbot was reported to have said that Phra Buddhadasa Bhikkhu, the late abbot of Wat Suan Moke in Surat Thani, had gone to hell after his death many years ago.

This is just getting more rediculous every day. Hopefully it will come to an end soon, although I doubt it.

Correct me if I am wrong please, but the Dhamm monk has only been asked to acknowledge the charges and has been guaranteed bail by the senior chap at the DSI. We are all to familiar with the speed, or lack of it, that Thai justice moves at and this monk is 72 years old. Additionally he is alledgedly very sick also.

Now we have all these stupid defamation claims and counter claims.

Thailand the ASEAN Hub of injustice.

This whole nonsense needs to be lifted up and dropped into a school playground which would be a fitting location.

The problem is so many schoolchildren would feel insulted since they exhibit far more maturity.

I love the part where he makes reference to the law of the land resembling a spider’s web which only traps insects and small animals but not big animals, then he is ready to be like an insect.

Good on you Sir.

If Phra Dammachayo is the injured party, then his lawyer should lodge the complaint, not the rep of his followers. Or, maybe Dammachayo isn't around, anymore? Went straight to Nirvana, didn't pass "go", didn't collect 200.

If Phra Dammachayo is innocent he would be presenting himself to the DSI, trouble is he knows he isnt so is getting all his lackies to do his dirty work for him by trying to tie everyone else up and stalling any possible conviction for what he has done. Thai buddhism has become a joke to the rest of the world, between this cretin, the tiger temple and the jet setting monk Thailand buddhism is now looked at as corrupt in many cases and not abiding by the definitions of what monks should be doing. It appears that to some temples and their leaders they need to be wealthy and have all possible comforts, the complete opposite to what their religion preaches but until those in charge of these wayward temples/monks actually come down on them it will not change but that would mean the top dogs having to give up their comforts as well

He said [that if] the law of the land resembles a spider’s web which only traps insects and small animals but not big animals

Wat Suan Kaew - I went there a few years ago with a Thai who wanted to donate a lot of stuff from a deceased relative. I was astounded by the place- they have a 5 or 6 storey building that is operated like a department store, selling a lot of good used stuff that comes by donation. Everything you could imagine. Washing machines and appliances, computers, furniture.

Phra Payorm obviously has a nice little earner on his hands. I wonder how clean his hands are.

Police: "Sure, you bet. We'll get on this just as soon as your man turns himself in and we can lock him up, as he is a flight risk".

I think many of them never leave the playground.
