Is Weed Prohibition Over?
I doubt big players like CP, Central, and the other biggest successful business families really want in on this business. For one, they are making lots of money already from their core businesses and they don't need it. Also, it's not their thing. Many of them also have large business investments in China and some of the other countries in the region. China, Singapore and Japan all have strict laws against cannabis use as well. I don't think it would look good for any of them politically for their business relationships to get involved in what might be viewed as increasing "the illegal regional drug trade" in Asia. -

Plan B Countries - Any Advice or Ideas ?
This year I was finishing building a house in the UK, this was all self funded, so I slowed down my transactions to Thailand and used funds already here to live on, that I hadn't before. This reduced my cash surplus in Thailand, as UK funds were needed for the house project. I always liked a healthy balance in Thailand in my account, even though it served no benefit to me. I am not saying I am going to jump on the bandwagon and go asking for a TIN number, but I have just done some quick calculations, I probably still have missed something out, but here goes: I worked out I have transferred 428,000 baht only bank to bank. Furthermore, I have withdrawn from ATM's but not those connected to my Thai bank. This money is savings, I get no state pension (too young) or private pension. Well, I am in a Long Term Relationship for 28 years, but we never married, and I pay her a salary every month but probably cannot claim for that either. If I take single man's allowance of 60,000 baht, plus the 150,000 baht allowed tax-free, then add back the allowed 25,000 baht for my health insurance, that comes to 235,000 baht. So worse case scenario, tax on 192,000, well, 5% of the 150-300K equates to 7,500 baht plus 10% of 42,000 equates at 4,200 baht. So, the total bill would be 11,700 baht tax due. It's not worth getting in a sweat about. I still think with monies transferred being savings, I have no tax due to pay, but I think this is the most I would pay if absolutely necessary. I think I don't need a plan B with my houses and cars here all paid for, I will just minimize transfers here bank to bank. -

Donald Trump has NO mandate -- not for his election and not for his extremist policies
Nobody screwed over Biden. He was in on the scam to pass himself off as not having dementia. The only people getting screwed over were the American electorate. -

Thai housemaid’s 100 million baht fortune hits a legal snag
A jest from the state should allow Tim to at least inherit the jewelry and some cash. A good lawyer abroad would find out where the sale/ land money went . It would be good to follow up the results of this case. The state is bound to make a lot of money out of all this.
