Sukhumbhand in what we imagine his office to look like.

BANGKOK: -- This is too much. Wasant Meewong, Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra’s advisor, defended the governor’s THB16.5 million office renovation after the budget was published online and went viral.

Wasant said that the big budget was justified as the money was used to renovate many rooms, including the offices of deputy governors, advisers, secretaries, meeting rooms, and a reception room.
The project was widely ridiculed online because of the total overall price and sumptuous furniture included.

Snout in the trough.

Whenever you see a Thai pooyay, or a group of Thai police at a news conference, or a group of army officers doing something inconsequential for the benefit of the cameras, reflect on the thought that 80% of all Thais have taken or are taking money that they're not entitled to - usually graft.

It's a fun game to try and figure out which ones are not involved in graft.

Fortunately, we are spared the exercise in this picture, because there's only one person in it. And, in whole numbers, 80% of 1 is...

Now you're getting the picture...

It's a pity that you spared yourself the exercise of reading the Coconuts report...it's not a real picture, it's not a real room and the Governor is not really there. Are you getting the picture yet?

"What we imagine "is in heavy print underneath , winnie is stating what the situation generally is , and he isn't far wong , he points out the uncharacteristic of only one in this picture, however there are generally 1/2 to a dozen in most photo shoots., like the orange bag photo @ Chiang Rai

Yes. I did read the report. Yes, I did know it wasn't a real picture, but presumably the bit that was the governor really was the bit that was the governor in a picture that was really a picture Sorry to rain on your parade, but I'm not sure that makes any difference at all to the point being made. But perhaps you didn't get the picture at all after all.

Or maybe not.

Have a nice day and don't let the things that aren't really real ruin the whole picture for you. That would be a shame.

All clear now?

My gilded Louis furniture would compliment his style????

An oap in Thailand gets 500 a month from government (depending on age) so 16.5 million for his office is about right for a man like that ,he probably thinks

In any country there ain't no trough like the government trough, none so large and easy to access, and it never runs dry.
