The lawless province has some of the worst gun crime and murder rates in the country.Chaiyan Intharawijit, 52, was said to have been hiding and working as a contractor collecting litter in Lat Krabang near Bangkok. He denied everything, reported tnamcot. He was wanted on warrants for premeditated murder and weapons charges in both Nakorn Sri Thammarat and Thung Song provinces.Police have described him as the number one hit man in the area who owned a large cache of war weapons. He had already been sentenced to death for the 1998 murder of Hiran Thongjinsang in Nakorn Sri Thammarat but managed to escape. He is also wanted for the war weapon shooting of Suriya Mukwat in 2010 and the sniper rifle assassination of Suriya's father Somporn Mukwat last year.Police believe that the assassinated father and son were responsible for the murder of the hit man's son. ezzra
So, since 1998 the man is running around free, escaped death sentence, working and killing people at whim presumably under his own and the police couldn't him or didn't bother to find him for nearly 20 years? something is amiss here...... Nasrullah
"Police believe that the assassinated father and son were responsible for the murder of the hit man's son." And were they? If the police say so it must be true.....why he was free for nearly 20 years might be because it was ordered hit by police at the time..... Just business that's all
Moonmoon
next time i be careful around those who collect litter, might be a hitman in disguise. I AM WARNED
Alive
I remember way way back around or before 2000 the BKKPost or Nation had an article about all the hitmen in Thailand. I was shocked that they could write about them giving their names or nicknames and the areas where they worked. Why didn't the government didn't arrest them? Just amazing Thailand. Some people certainly have privileges in Thailand's crimeland.

rwdrwdrwd
I'm interested in why it's necessary to have 'Crime Suppression Police' - isn't this the task of all the other police departments as well? There is actually a special department called this, saw the HQ recently whilst driving through BKK. Edited June 24, 2016 by rwdrwdrwd

Norvid
If police said, then it must be true? Like in Koh Tao case? Like in 17 dead innocent children burned alive by fire?

Notice how all police buildings of the different departments are very new and modern, while they are surrounded by archaic(badly in need of m/over) buildings.....one could easily get the impression that the police is modern and equal to their western counterparts! goodheart555
One hit man down god knows how many more to go? Here in Thailand anyone can be a hit man...a wife's brother, who needs help throwing someone of a balcony ....a business rival that needs a plastic bag on his head or an environmentalist that needs an assisted hanging or two. Happy Days xx
Good to see someone organised in Thailand. ... can do the job once to satisfaction, and then repeat the same task, over and over, to the same standard ... this is unheard of in Thailand!! He should get at least a 'work ethic' award to compliment his death sentence!

Actually it is really bad all over south Thailand and I am not talking about the far Muslim south but the very Buddhist not so south, mostly because they have more money to kill each other over, more so then in the north or center. One thing I always say is if you think Thai people are bad southern Thais are at least 3 times worse...OK maybe 10.
