When to apply for For?

My wife's family settlement visa was issued on 8 April 2014, and she first entered the UK on 11 May 2014.

When is the earliest / latest she can submit her FLR application?

Sorry, subject should refer to "FLR". Stupid phone autocorrect.

The earliest she can apply is 28 days before she has been in the UK for 30 months*; the latest is the day her current visa expires.

Note that although it still says A1 there, from October the minimum English speaking and listening requirement for FLR increases to A2. So as she wont be applying until November, if my maths are correct, if she only has A1 she will need to take the exam again to increase her grade. If she already has A2 or better she can use that for her FLR, provided it's the same pass she used for her initial visa.

*Actually, she can apply before this but if she does so her 30 month long FLR will expire before she has lived in the UK for 5 years and so she will not be able to apply for ILR and will have to apply for another FLR to make up the missing time!
