32 organizations work together to achieve national sustainability

BANGKOK, 6 July 2016 (NNT) - Unilever, the Federation of the Thai Industries, and ThaiPublica have organized a meeting with representatives from 32 organizations with an aim to promote sustainability, end poverty, and tackle climate change.

Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said after presiding over the opening ceremony of the meeting that national sustainability is based on three important elements, namely the economy, society and environment.

He said that many countries experience extreme weather conditions, because they give little attention to the environment. Crop yields have declined significantly in some countries due to severe flooding and drought.

Dr. Somkid said Thailand needs to adopt His Majesty the King’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy as a basis for national growth. He added that the country should do more to attract foreign investment, reduce household expenses, and develop useful innovations to promote economic prosperity.

Unilever Chairperson Supattra Paopiamsap said the meeting will create unity among the 32 participating organizations to achieve national sustainability. She expects them to succeed in their goals within 14 years.

The sad thing is that the people who organise and attend these type of events actually believe the BS in they spout.

I bet most of the hundreds or thousands of government 'organizations' in Thailand have the same members, all from the same families and all getting special pay from the government for each of the hundreds of organization meetings they have monthly. Grand scam.

The fact that unilever is part of it does not make it very believeable. That company has a lot of cleanup to do. But who knows, maybe their conscience is catching up....

I like a couple of bottles of Chang now and then, but whatever you are drinking is clearly much more potent.

Please advise, would love to try some.

This jumbo gabfest certainly has some lofty goals for Thailand albeit they won't be achieved until about 2030.

They are going to eliminate poverty something that has been around since the creation of mankind.

They are also going to prevent the climate from changing something the climate will resist with all it's unpredictable nature.

They could have started the ball rolling by inviting a group of impoverished people to come and share their buffet lunch and refreshments.

Yes I was just thinking how many junket luncheons are there going to be from now to the end of poverty?

Hope they keep a record of the check bins.

Thank god there is a committee to save the world. When does this crackdown expire? They will be publishing concrete results soon I'm sure of that.

OK, thank you very much.

NEXT!!

Saddest are those who think a nation not being self-sufficient - being dependent, instead, on the "good will" (sic) of transnational corporations for basic needs - is a good thing.

I sincerely hope I am wrong. but this sounds suspiciously like part of a long-standing UN plan to control the world's most vital resources known as Agenda 21. The name was later dropped as details of the scheme leaked out and a wave of public protest gathered momentum worldwide.

However, it appears Agenda 21 is still being covertly implemented on a country by country basis, under a variety of disguises, and that it involves precisely the sort of agencies and concepts - such as national sustainability - mentioned in this report.

Agenda 21 is a very different animal from the commendable self-sufficiency model promulgated by His Majesty the King and I would recommend anyone not acquainted with its controversial aims and objects to do some Googling.

"national sustainability"

It sounds awfully like another one of those meaningless motherhood-type buzz-word nominalisations. What does it mean I wonder?
