Heat Rash

Featured Replies

Any tips on how best to deal with a touch of heat rash in delicate areas without using the chemists?

Prickly Heat powder, certainly in Tesco, probably in the Seven.

And the cans are collector's items.

Lovely & aptly named as it happens blink.png

I don't like that powder because I heard it was carcinogenic and you can't really help it getting into the air.

Anyway, I had a bad case of what I thought was heat rash this year on my chest and torso.

It seemed bad enough to use steroid cream but there was so much of it, that would have been a bad idea to get so much steroids.

So I tried a conservative approach. More showers (not hot) and keeping the sweat off.
I also use a "spa soap" I get at Boots with TURMERIC in it that is supposedly good for rash and itch.

Over time, the rash cleared up which I wasn't sure it would as there so much of it.

Such heat rashes usually do clear up without medications.

STARDA B cream from most chemists. It clears up itching in 15 mins and the rash in no time at all.

I was scratching myself stupid after bicylce rides until I found this cream.

It would depend what caused the 'heat rash'

Allergic reaction (washing powder), Candida (yeast infection), STDs (genital herpes) and many other causes.

That's true. Rashes can be a lot of things. But actual heat rash will usually clear up without treatment if you just keep the area clean and dry.

What's in that?

Thanks for the Visual, lol

Not sure it really helps with itchy rash, but the brand of soap I was talking about is Maithong turmeric bar soap which costs about 55 baht.

If you have chaffing under your armpits and groin, inner thigh areas then I would recomend vaseline。 Vaseline will have you walking around normaly in no time。

So to add to other posters recomendations

1 Cold showers in the morning

2 Apply vasoline to chaffed inner areas

3 Apply Starda A to outer areas

4 Cold showers in the evening

5 Sprinkle prickly heat powder to all areas betore bed e bobos。

A wet cloth to wipe off excessive sweat is a good way to stay cooler.

If it doesn't seem to improve with baby powder or prickly heat powder and frequent bathing, you could try Quadriderm. It combines anti-inflammatory/ anti-itch, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal meds.

Just keep in mind that if your problem has a fungal component, it can take a long time to fully resolve it.
