PHUKET: A 23-year-old woman from a northern hill tribe was shot dead in the early hours of this morning (July 8) whilst she was sat drinking with her husband and friends at a mini-mart in Phuket Town.

Lt Col Taksin Pinyothepprasan, an investigator from Phuket City Police was notified of the shooting at 4am.

Police arrived at the scene, a three-storey commercial building on Phang Nga Rd, to find Ms Wei Lang lying on the ground inside the building in a pool of blood. There was a single gunshot wound to her forehead.
Also inside the shop was the woman’s husband Mr Da Zhe, 31, who is also the shop owner and a Chinese tour guide and two friends. Mr Da had sustained a small wound to his stomach.
Police were told that prior to the incident, Mr Da had been drinking with Ms Wei and the two friends inside the shop. The shop was closed so the door had been locked and the curtains closed.
“Suddenly the group heard gunshots coming from outside the shop. Mr Da then realised that his wife had been shot. We were then called to the scene,” said Lt Col Taksin.

Maybe someone was upset with the ruckus they were making inside.

Maybe someone was upset with the ruckus they were making inside.

The first ThaiVisa sleuth has logged in.

Who's next?

Slap on the wrist…..it was only a hill tribe person so they don't count (not my POV by the way).

...must be more to the story....

...not a random act.....

Sounds like a drive by. Sad whatever. To use such excessive violence. As some say must be much more to this story yet to be revealed

Target unsighted (shot through a curtain) and shot in the head.

Mmmm, either terribly unlucky, or.........................................

"who is also the shop owner and a Chinese tour guide and two friends." - was the husband and wife, a Chinese tour guide, and two friends, in the shop, or is the husband also a Chinese tour guide?

Don t see any curtains on those windows, and the Police will check for a

bullet hole through the window ???, stories are not well reported ,you have

to try and fill the omissions your self.

regards Worgeordie

Welcome to Phuket...

Might be safer to stay in Chiang Mai, though, not by much.

Phuket is safe, if you do not get between a Thai, and one single baht.
