PM calls on people to be careful when sharing information in social media

supawadee wangsri

BANGKOK, 9 July 2016 (NNT) - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha called on members of the public to be careful about sharing information in social media and to maintain peace.

Government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd said that there was an attempt to associate southern separatist movement with a photo shared in social media depicting persons wearing shirts with a map of the five southern border provinces.

However, he said, the shirts were produced by Tadika School Coordination Foundation Center for sale to fund a campaign to preserve the Malay language and was not associated in any way with the separatists.

He quoted the premier as saying distorted information could possibly escalate conflict in society while the people should be careful when receiving and sharing information in social media.

Why can't he speak for himself? Why does he need to speak through a spokesman?

Because his spokesman is better at making lies sound like truth.

The POS has been trained in the art of lying. Not very well though because part of the art of lying is not looking like you're lying. But looking all rich and important and having the word 'Colonel' in his title is good enough for Thais.

The media gets 90% of their news stories that begin in social media....not including political stuff......scoops are now almost a thing of the past .....FB, Line, Whats Ap etc run a story...and away it runs!

The news outlets are always asking for pieces of news and pics...

"distorted information"........this government does nothing else but distort things..
