Taxi such as Mr T will be 3000-3500 and will drop you at the ferry. Luxury minibus such as Koh Chang Minibus will cost you 4000 and will take you to your destination on Koh Chang.

Minibus 4000.

Really?

I think he means for the whole minibus. However I'm travelling alone. I didn't want to go back to pattaya. Was hoping to go on to koh Chang. Have emailed Mr T. Will report back for taxi price.

some people have got more money than sensegiggle.gif 3000 to 4000 is ridiculous.

I'm sure you will be able to find someone going to Rayong from the airport and if not just ask to be dropped off on Sukhumvit Road at the entrance to the airport and there are many minivan services and big buses going in that direction which you just have to flag down.

Once you get to Rayong which is only about 30 to 40 km further on there are regular minivan services going direct to Trat bus station where you can get a songthaew to the ferry terminal or alternatively regular big Cherdchai Tour buses also stop in Rayong (which originated in Bangkok but have bypassed Pattaya )

It's all a matter of circumstances. As the OP has now explained further that they are travelling solo, a luxury minibus may be ott. On the two occasions we've made this trip by road, we've used Koh Chang Minibus because there were four of us on one occasion and seven on the other. We had a fair bit of luggage and (more importantly) small children with us. Getting in a very comfortable private minibus, getting out for some fresh air on the ferry over, then getting out again at the hotel on Koh Chang is worth every penny.

Your plan involves an awful lot of faffing about, but is suitable for someone keeping to a tight budget. Though it wouldn't be an awful lot cheaper than my method with my own usual circumstances (and would be an absolute bloody nightmare journey for us too).
