Hello..my cat fell from the 5th floor this morning..I took her immediately to the vet..she was put on IV to stop any internal bleeding & trauma..then for the rest of the day she was put in an oxygen box not sure what it's called..so in the evening I went to check up on her & it comes out that she has a tear in her soft & hard palate & a closed limb fracture..now she needs surgery..the vet asked me to take her home & bring her back again tomorrow morning..the problem is that just the medicines administered alone cost too much & I can imagine that if the private clinics perform surgery it would be a lot more..so is there a hospital around in bangkok where I can take her to get the surgery..I can't afford a private surgerical procedure..looking for cost effective options in bkk..thanks

I hope you locked her in, to stop her doing it again, before your morning decision

she's probably still pretty spooked

She's in a dog crate at the moment to avoid any stress on the limb..she's got a soft bandage for now..

I thought cats were perfectly fine with long falls.

Anyways, the most cost effective solution would be to purchase your new cat at a market. Don't try getting a stray, the cost of cleaning them up is almost always higher than the cost of a new clean one.

There is a vet a few hundred meters down sukhumvit 22, that have been good and quite inexpensive for my cat over the years, but no major surgeries so I can't speculate on the savings there.

Should you go looking it's maybe half way into the soi on the left.

There is a more expensive clinic on the same soi, but it is on the right and you go past it on the way. Sorry can't be more specific.

Thanks alot I've been constantly browsing online for solutions..I think chulalongkorn veterinary hospital seems to be the best bet as its a teaching hospital..going early morning today..hope she recovers

I fad the same situation few years ago. My cat jumped off balcony. I could't find her for 2 hours. But when she'd been in my arms, we went to veterinary hospital. Hopefully she was fine, without any injure.
I believe that your cat will be fine too.

Thanks..She was pretty traumatized before but since this morning she seems like to be her old self again..I'm relieved to see the life come back into her..although it would still take her at least a month to heal completely..she's being fed with nasogastric tube for now & doing pretty well on it

Chula or Kasetsart Univ vet hospitals are what you need. Affordable and good capacityto handle complicated and specialized surgeries.
