grankboy Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 My son half British & Thai ( born in the UK ) has a daughter also British & Thai also born in the UK, she is now expecting her first child will the baby also be able to claim Thai Citizenship?
MikeyIdea Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 The child will be able to claim Thai citizenship if her mother has a Thai citizenship http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/1415/21482-e-Passport-Application-for-Thai-Nationals-Living-A.html Important: Do not wait with registering the child at the embassy etc.

MikeyIdea Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 The father is Thai too, yes, but that only matters if the father is married to the mother or has legitimized the child - If a child was born to a Thai father who did not sign a marriage certificate with a foreign mother, he/she (the child) will be qualified for (to get) Thai citizenship by (1) the subsequent marriage of the parents (2) Legitimate Child Registration made on application by the Thai father (child must be 7 years old and mother must agree) (3) a court order on the legitimate child of the father
Arkady Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Unlike British nationality and some other nationalities there is no limit to how many generations can be born overseas and still have Thai nationality. As long as one parent has Thai nationality the child is Thai.
