BANGKOK: -- The Minister of Commerce yesterday signed a formal official document to demand compensation payment from six politicians and senior government officials for the fake government-to-government (G2G) rice sales to China.

The signing of the official papers by Ms Apiradi Tantraporn was made after Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has sent an official document designated the minister to sign the compensation claim to demand compensation from six persons held responsible for four fake G2G rice agreements amounted to 6.2 million tons with China.

They are Boonsong Teriyapirom, the former commerce minister, Phum Sarahol, former deputy commerce minister, Maj Dr Viravudh Vajanapuka, former secretary of the commerce minister, Manas Soiploy, former director-general of Foreign Trade Department, his deputy Tikamporn Natvorathat, Akrapong Theepvajara, former director of Foreign Rice Trading Office.

All the six were ruled guilty of corruption by the National Anti Corruption Commission.

Wonder if they are still in the country.

Hopefully further investigation will include Nattawut whose trucking company was allegedly used to move the rice supposed to be exported.

Party list MP, appointed as Deputy Minister of Agriculture, awarded government contracts, all while on bail for terrorism, prosecution deferred due to MP status, and long overdue for lengthy incarceration.

All the six were ruled guilty of corruption by the National Anti Corruption Commission.

Since when did the NACC become part of the judiciary branch?

it wont be long before a new gov is elected - and what wonders will they bring to the table to further Thailand through bright business entrepreneurship that seems only to further their own financial gains and those that are close to them...

Thailand is simply not ready for a democratic vote - Burma was ready and elected a person for the people... Thailand has no such heroes only those that care for their own self interests before that of the country.
