British Pension Transfer

Featured Replies

I am now (sigh...) of a pensionable age, and the UK Pensions office have approved my application.

However I have no UK bank account any more, and I have asked them to pay my pension into my Bangkok Bank foreign currency (pound sterling) account. They rang me today and said this was not possible with direct transfer to Thailand.

Has anyone experience of this? Can they pay into the Bangkok Bank London branch if I make arrangements?

Any advice truly gratefully received.

No reply from op.

A bit odd as I gave him the correct answer.

I suspect the problem is asking to be paid in GBP into a GBP account in Thailand, typically they would send in local currency (at very very favourable rates I might add) and you will receive in Thai Baht.
