Are the Baht busses ruining their own business?
If you were at the Second Road/South Road junction you would walk the 150m to Walking Street rather than going the length of Second Road and back down Beach Road in a couple of baht buses, same as in your previous example of going "all the way to Walking Street in one stop". Jomtien is screwed up with the one way road but elsewhere everything is as before. -

It more like the CapitalOne card in the US. You deposit $1,000. That's your credit limit. At the end of your 'cycle' (30-31 days, 28-29 days in Feb), you pay your bill, which will then allow you to charge again that month. If you don't pay on time, you get a 'blemish', demerit, whatever you want to call it. They'll stop any additional charges until you pay up to bring your deposit to $1,000, etc. -

The One Fatal Issue That Both Parties Consistently Refuse to Address
There’s all kinds of fun goodies at the link. Using simple arithmetic that half the country can do, if the interest on the national debt is 3% per year, that's about $1 trillion each year. Tax revenue is only about $5 trillion per year. Bush Sr.'s failure to address this issue in 1992 caused Ross Perot to enter as a third party candidate. He got about 10% of the vote and swung the election to Clinton. It was only about $4 trillion at the time. It's going to become a brutal society when it finally pops which I believe will be not long after the election regardless of the outcome, I expect traffic on this site will drop off dramatically as people stop thinking about their pronouns and focus on more immediate issues. -

Water Tank Float Valves
I have two 700L water tanks on the ground floor, and a pump that pumps the water from the ground floor tanks to a single 1,500L tank on the roof. Municiple water refills the ground floor tanks, and a float switch in the roof tank turns the ground floor pump off and on. It turns out the municipal water was off the other day, and we ran out of water last night. Both the ground floor tanks, and the roof tank were empty. The brass valves got stuck closed. They were easy enough to fix, but they were a PITA to remove and replace. I am wondering if the plastic type would be more reliable. The plastic type would also increase the tank capacity by about 10% -
