Nation TV Channel leaves UBC - closing down tonight

Nation Channel will cease its programming on United Broadcasting Corporation on May 1, 2003. The channel will move to Thai TV, a direct-to-home pay service available in limited areas of Bangkok.

The continuing ban on advertising on UBC prevents local programme producers from generating sufficient revenues to maintain their services,'' said UBC chief executive officer Sompan Charumilinda.

No I will not miss it, as I am not subscribed to UBC. I think that these UBC subscription fees are redicilous (for a developping country). The low turn over at high prices must , and should, not work, so lets boycot UBC untill they come down to earth.
