BANGKOK, 10 August 2016 (NNT) – After the majority of people voted to accept the draft constitution on August 7, the Prime Minister has expressed his gratitude to all members of the Constitution Drafting Commission (CDC) for their hard work.

Following a joint meeting between the Cabinet and the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), a press conference has been held by NCPO Spokesperson Col Winthai Suvaree and his deputy Col Sirichan Ngathong. According to the two officials, the Secretary-General of the NCPO gave the attendants a summary report on the constitutional referendum while Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam gave a presentation on the post-referendum agenda.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister and NCPO Chief Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said during the meeting that he would like to thank all individuals behind the success of the referendum, especially CDC Chairman Meechai Ruchuphan and all other charter drafters. He then asked the attendants to give a round of applause to the CDC in a show of moral support.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the need for peacekeeping operations to continue after the referendum. Once the official referendum result is submitted to him by the Election Commission, the premier is expected to make an announcement on the matter this Wednesday, August 10.

Reminds me of the very old BBC comedy   '  Are You Being Served  ?  ' and   '  young  '  Mr. Grace supported by a buxom nurse and telling the staff   "  You've All Done very Well.  "

I do emphasise the comedy show aspect of both the television show and what's happening here on a daily basis.

Analysts would point out , how many voters  actually turned up to vote that were entitled to vote and how many didn't vote,  as a silent protest or unable to or just could give a rats are@@se, if 50% percent is the number being bandied about it means you have 50% percent of voters that are against for some reason or other , you are not home with those numbers , will it mean , a new cottage industry in  making posters, banners , bullet proof vests and tank proof boots for the future..........................................:coffee1:

As the CDC membership was controlled by the NCPO, really, what chance did the NO vote have of ever getting up. The refusal by the NCPO to allow international observers in speaks volumes as to the integrity of the whole process.

49.5% of those who could have voted "stayed away".

The percentage of the total eligibility "pool" voting against, or choosing not to partake in the pantomime (a vote of despair?), was 66.2%.

This charade is one more guarantee that there will be no "soft solution" to the "Thailand Problem".

There is really no point in trying to make Thailands future in these pages.

Suffice to say that all that is "amazing" about Thailand, is that anyone should consider it sensible to make Thailand part of a retirement "plan".

(Unless the plan involves an executive jet on permanent standby)
