webfact
One ton of illegally imported buffalo meat and pork found in Nan province NAN, 10 August 2016 (NNT)-The Nan Provincial Livestock Office has found more than one ton of illegally imported animal meats following a police raid in Muang district. Ms. Nawapan Pukampan was charged with smuggling 1,020 kilograms of frozen buffalo meat, beef tongues and pork into Thailand from India and Brazil. All illegal meats were found in a large cold storage room during the raid. The 27-year old-woman from Tak reportedly rented a house in Nan and used it as a meat distribution center. Authorities then proceeded to confiscate the meats, for which Ms. Nawapan failed to provide import clearance documents. According to the Livestock Department, Indian and Brazilian buffalo meats are banned in Thailand. The meats are expected to be buried later by the department. -- nnt 2016-08-

jaltsc
"According to the Livestock Department, Indian and Brazilian buffalo meats are banned in Thailand." There's already enough bull in Thailand, without having to import any more.
