Hua Hin bomb blasts: Thailand on high alert - Interior Ministry issues wide ranging directives throughout country

BANGKOK: -- Thailand's Interior Ministry has called for all administrative levels throughout the country to be on high alert following the bomb outrages in Hua Hin and Trang and an incident in Phuket. Tourist areas came in for special mention.

PHUKET: -- Two bombs exploded In Patong this morning (Aug 12), the first close to the police box on Bangla Rd the second at Loma Park. A third Bomb has also been found outside the Baan Thai Hotel.

BANGKOK, 12 August 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has called for calm following multiple explosions in the nation, assuring that the government is maintaining the situation, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has let on it will not yet issue a report to the international community as the situation remains unclear.

Hua Hin town almost deserted

HUA HIN: -- The once busiest Hua Hin town at weekend turned almost like a ghost city today when all shopping centres and popular tourist spots were closed and residents were asked to stay homes while tourists remaining in their hotels as explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) from the police and the military combing the town looking for unexploded bombs.
