BANGKOK: -- The National Reform Steering Assembly will hold a workshop on August 16 to consider reform-related bills and work plans which need to be wrapped up in 120 days before the assembly is to be disbanded.

Mr Kamnoon Sitthisamarn, spokesman of the NRSA’s extraordinary committee, said Wednesday that members of the assembly would be divided into 12 groups and each would attend a separate workshop to discuss reform-related bills and work plans.

He expected all the work plans and bills to be announced in November before the NRSA is dissolved after which a new organization will be set up to succeed NRSA.

Asked whether the NRSA will be transformed into a new organisation to carry on with the reforms by virtue of the new constitution, Mr Kamnoon said he didn’t say so but he noted that the National Council for Peace and Order is empowered by the new charter to restructure existing organizations.

The assemblyman, however, said that within 120 days after the promulgation of the new charter, the NCPO might order the dissolution of the NRSA.
