Alum powder

Featured Replies

anyone know where to get this in Chiang Mai?

(Hydrated potassium aluminum sulfate)

google world chemicals chiang mai.

But please tell me yo do not want to use it for houshold water clarification. or for use in a swimming pool, it is a very specialist chemical to use in water treatment, for extreme measures only.

The best chemical to use is poly aluminium sulphate as a water clarifier .

I have posted in the swimming pool forum on the dangers of using  alum, I think i live not to far from you  pm  me.

Hi it's a medical use so hoping to find it in a local store

If it is for a mouth sore, the Thai pharmacies have something similar...let me know and I will be more specific.

mucocoele  and I hear Alum is great fix for that

the stuff I got from the pharmacy was Triamcinolone Acetonide...which is kind of pastey..and worked so well on a mouth sore, it actually reminded me of Alum...which my dad was a firm believer in.  I read gargling in salt water could only help those mucus bags.  See the Doctor of Pharmacy at the pharmacy I recommended on here 10 days ago...they really know their stuff.

which pharmacy?  on Google it says Alum is commonly available in Supermarkets (in the West) as a herb?  Alum really is the way to go for cysts

My old dead friend 'Mad Mike' of the Mae Rim Swim Pool used  alum to settle and weight down the 'stuff' that accumulated in the pool.

He would recirculate and filter/ dispose of the 'stuff' periodically. It was only when he had to drown the rabid dog that he had to totally clean and chlorinate the pool. Generations of Mae Rim children learned to swim in Mad Mikes swim pool.....Ken
