CHIANG MAI: -- The Chiang Mai military court has rejected bail for the mayor of Chiang Mai provincial administration organization and ten other suspects charged with distributing mails allegedly distorting the content of the draft constitution.

The 11 suspects were brought before the military court in Chiang Mai on Monday after their first detention term expired. Their lawyer, Mr Chamnong Chaimongkol, asked the court for their bail.

The court however turned down the request for bail reasoning that there was no reason to change the previous court order to keep all the 11 suspects in detention.

After the court rejected his request for bail, Mr Chamnong told the media that he would try again to bail his clients on August 26 when the 12-day detention term was due to expire.

The 11 suspects were identified as Mr Boonlert Buranapakorn, mayor of Chiang Mai provincial administration organization (PAO); Ms Tasanee Buranapakorn, vice mayor of Chiang Mai PAO; Pairat Maichompoo, vice mayor of Chiang Mai PAO; Ms Tarntip Buranapakorn, a dentist attached to Chang Puek tambon municipality; Kachane Jiakkachorn, mayor of Chang Puek tambon municipality; Atipong Kammoon, an official attached to Chang Puek tambon municipality; Ms Am-on Dubsoke, an official attached to Chang Puek tambon municipality; Mrs Supawadee Ngammuang, a director of Chiang Mai Tassanaporn Company; Mrs Kobkarn Sudeeda, an employee of Chiang Mai Tassanaporn Company; Krittikorn Polthaya, an official of Chang Puek tambon municipality; and Mrs Netitat Apiratinai, secretary of the mayor of Chang Puek tambon municipality.

Seems to me the Junta are not endearing themselves with some local officials .?

These people ( several have served for a few terms in local administration) many are connected to powerful families .

Helicopter crashes and pipe bombs may not have anything to do directly with their families retaliation measures.

But such injustices may lead to tangible hatreds manifesting on army representatives and their government .

Oppression often does lead to reaction.

We shall see.?

They sent out lies, changed an official document to transmit those lies, in a deliberate attempt to mislead people by telling them outright lies in order to pressure people to vote in the way they wanted. They got caught, arrested, remand in custody, and are likely to be charged and prosecuted once investigations are completed. The court previously explained their reasoning for denying bail.

Where is the injustice? Should they be allowed to break the law, lie, commit fraud and misrepresentation and illegally alter and distribute official documents? Oh yes, they're Shin friends, cronies and supporters. That makes it alright in your view then?

Another convert to the junta system. Serious crime if proven? yes but then it all stems back to an illegal takeover of power and nulling and voiding a legal election. For the sake of credibility lets round up the Red Bull Boy and make the sentences for drunken carslaughter more realistic. That being said and done lets move onto to the above. Lets not cherry pick things lets have even handed justice in all things.

Then logically about 90% of the politicians involved in the Brexit campaign should be behind bars.
