RIO DE JANEIRO: -- An overhead television camera suspended by cables crashed to the ground in the Olympic Park on Monday.

The incident injured at least three people in the crowds below.

A TV news report showed two of the injured looking dazed, sitting on the ground near the heavy black camera housing.

One woman, bleeding from her head as medics arrived, was taken away on a stretcher.

The other walked from the scene wearing a neck brace.

According to a spokesman for the Rio Games organizers, the camera belonged to the International Olympic Committee’s official broadcasting unit.

Litany of screwups

US medalist swimmer ryan lochte got held up at gunpoint by thugs pretending to be cops….they asked him to get on the ground but he wouldn't…took his money but left his phone and passport….couldve easily lost his life the crazy goon.

on youtube there are videos of pickpockets during the olympic at a street intersection, it was in broad daylight and the teens had balls of steel, even when tourist identify them as thieves they would continue to follow the tourists..... this is the worse Olympics I've seen, Brazil should never have got it just based on crime alone. The locals who see tourist getting rob don't even blink an eye, its so common for them. There are even comments on forums where locals admit its common and its just a way of life, so tourist will have to deal with it themselves....
