Apparently you get a 15 days stamp so immigration can check you are at school before you can get an extension for the 3 months.

Be warned if you have booked flights for the extension and have less than 15 days. :(

Some immigration offices handle education extensions differently based on various and frequently changing factors. In your case, what immigration office was it and at what school are you studying what subject?

I think that the Op will find that the school he is trying to study at has a flag on the file and that there is a history of no show students.  I would not worry about it so much as i will bet in about 30 days they will be back.

If you are here to really learn and are at legit schools I do not think there is an issue at anytime.

The 15 day under consideration stamp after applying for the extension is not really new. I can recall reports of it being done at some immigration offices a year ago or more.
