PHUKET: -- The body of a Myanmar national reported missing after being swept away by waves when fishing on rocks in Kalim on Tuesday (Aug 16) was found close to the area where he disappeared yesterday morning (Aug 17).

Passenger fined $700 for slapping a flight attendant in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY: -- A Vietnam Airlines business class passenger has been fined VND 15 million (US$700) for slapping a flight stewardess during a domestic flight last week because he suspected her of stealing his smart phone, Thanh Niew News Online reported on Wednesday.

Singtel to buy Temasek’s stakes in Thailand and India

BANGKOK: -- Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) has formally notified Singapore Exchange it will spend S$2.47 billion to buy a 21 percent stake in Thailand’s Intouch Holdings PCL and a further 7.39 percent stake in Bharti Telecom (BTL) from Temasek Holdings.
