PHUKET:-- A family of four on holiday in Phuket were taken to hospital after lifeguards rescued them after they were found struggling in the water near rocks at Surin Beach yesterday (Aug 22).

More water in dams this year than last year

BANGKOK: -- There is more water in dams across the country this year than last year and the water will be enough for consumption and for farming to last through the next dry season, Irrigation Department director-general Suthep Noypairote assured on Tuesday.

Pai Daodin freed on bail and vows to carry on the fight for the right cause

KHON KAEN: -- Political activist Chatupat Boonpatthararaksa or better known as Pai Daodin was freed from Khon Kaen special penitentiary on Tuesday after the 23rd army circle military court granted him a bail with conditions that he must refrain from political activities and must not travel abroad.

First hearing of Erawan Shrine explosion adjourned until September 15

BANGKOK: -- The first hearing of the Ratchaprasong-Sathorn pier bomb blasts scheduled on Tuesday was adjourned until September 15 after an Uyghur-speaking interpreter jumped bail and is on the run with a court warrant issued for his arrest.

Mobile phone service providers reminded to refund pre-paid users upon the return of their SIMs

BANGKOK: -- The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission will inform all mobile phone service providers to refund their customers who use pre-paid SIMs and, later on, return their SIMs with the remaining unused phone fees, said Mr Takorn Tanthasit, secretary-general of the regulatory body, on Tuesday.

Patong residents rally against runaway Phuket tour buses

Residents living at the bottom of Patong Hill have had enough of runaway tour buses and trucks crashing through their neighbourhood, where the children play on the streets.

 

PHUKET: -- A runaway tour bus ramming into a temple perimeter wall in Patong last night has reinvigorated a group of local residents in their push for authorities to redress the problem.
