EOD police narrowly defuse improvised bomb left on truck at petrol station in Yala

The station employee told police that the driver of the truck told him to fill the tank full and then walked away with another person in hijab dress to a waiting motorcycle and escaped.

He then immediately alerted police.

A 15-kilo gas tank was on the truck.

EOD took two hours to clear the area after it was found the gas tank filled with 80 kilos of explosive was a remote improvised bomb.

All wireless telecommunication signals surrounding the petrol station was then blocked.

EOD police later successful defused the bomb.

Very similar to the Pattani hotel carbombing. The police have cctv footage from this Yala attempted car bombing so lets hope this will lead to the arrest of the bombers.

VIDEO: Officials defuse a powerful car bomb in front of a car dealer’s showroom

Officials of the explosives ordnance disposal unit safely defused a powerful car bomb in front of a car dealer’s showroom in Yala province this morning.

An EOD unit was rushed to the scene with jammers to disrupt radio signals which might be used by insurgents to detonate the car bomb. The EOD spent about two hours before they managed to remove two 50-litre gas tanks filled with explosive devices from the pickup truck.
