In most countries, the military and the police work closely and seamlessly to share intelligence and develop joint operational commands. InThailand, the military and the police are working to compete with each other and the commanders make cooperation worse by making assumptions and irrational statements without consulting each other and without much evidence. Even the most mudane of police tasks have been overtaken by the military and affect the morale of the police force and makes cooperation difficult. The top leaders carry most of the blame.
