Hello,

I want to go and learn the Thai language seriously and apply at a good school in Bangkok, Thong Lo.

The benefits are, of course, a 1 year visa... thumbs up:)

After reading some forums, I came a cross somebody saying a female friend was denied her Education Visa in Vientiane recently!?

Can somebody please update on this issue?!

I was told that Vientiane is the best place to go for a Education Visa if of course you have the right documents with you.

If the news is positive... can you also update me on how long it take to apply for the Education Visa at Embassy Vientiane?

I thought it was apply on first day and pick up the next day, right?

All the help is appreciated!

Tom

The correct documents is important and that is probably why the extension application was not accepted.

Requirements can be found here. http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/upload/pdf/Visa/Non- ED & O.pdf

You apply the morning of one day and pickup the next afternoon.

You will not get a one year non-ed visa. You will first get a single entry non-ed visa and then apply for 90 day extensions at a immigration office.

I have found requirements listed on the Internet notoriously unreliable.

I have just got an non ed for my daughter at Vientiane also they wanted her acadmic record, copy of my passport  (eventually not needed but originally requested) and if a private school a copy of the school registration, and other details. My daughter did have a depends visa but when I changed to a marriage visa I discover that one cannot have a dependents visa on the back of a marriage visa for some unknown reason.

I received plenty of incorrect advice from immigration and a lawyer a wasted months of my time.

What I posted is from the Vientiane embassy website and mentions everything you did.

A copy of your passport is not listed but they may of wanted that if your daughter is a minor.

If your daughter is 20 years old or younger she can get an extension as your dependent when on an extension (not a visa)  based upon marriage to a Thai.

From clause 2.18 of police order 327/2557.
