BANGKOK, 31 August 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has confirmed there is no conflict among members of the Cabinet, and denied rumors of a Cabinet reshuffle.

The Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has denied rumors of conflict between the Deputy Prime Minister for economic affairs Somkid Jatusripitak and Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Gen Chatchai Sarikulya.

Gen Prayut has said that all ministers will continue working in their current posts and that no additional deputy ministers will be assigned at this time. The Prime Minister also assured that despite his authority to unilaterally assign deputy ministers, this matter requires discussion with related sectors.

Regarding the new vacancy for Adviser to the Ministry of Defense, Gen Prayut has said the additional position is not meant to resolve any issues related to appointment or promotion, but can be seen as a reward for a life of dedication to the country.

The Prime Minister has also stressed that this year’s military reassignments, which include the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, was deliberated by himself, the Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, and military leaders. He affirmed that the process was free of outside influence, especially those of Privy Council President Gen Prem Tinsulanonda, who is highly respected by the military, but is not involved in these matters.

Meaning this position is not necessary or vital for the country, instead it's another burden on tax payers. If you wanna reward an official, give him medal - where is your military spirit, if you ever had one.

His first act in any reshuffle should be to dump the DPMs.  They are nothing but a monumental embarrassment to his regime.  Given that they are former military buddies one suspects he does not possess the required male anatomy to do so.

Please give him a chance. He is a Great Prime Minister. I like that he speaks his mind.

Yes, you're certainly right about the mind-speaking part. Which may help to explain why we rarely hear anything straightforward.

Many  comments demonstrate the  delusion that those they presume elected under  conditions of ultimate democratic  ethic ( whatever they  might fantasize that is ) will dutifully fulfill  promises,  never change  mind, never tell  a lie.

So if Prayut  denies he has  intention to do so  not remove the  possibility that it  may be  something that happens.

To refute claim, to deny, to  insist not, to have  no intent, all have  connotations that for reasons unknown can either innocently or deliberately  obfuscate comprehension. The  result only  permits conjecture of a  statement rather than  anything defined  and  accurate.

A   political strategy ?
