I am not sure if Thailand's membership of the AEC has changed much in real estate ownership, but I would like to ask:

If a foreigner (European) buys a condominium and has a partner who is Singaporean (thus a member of the ASEAN Economic Community) is it possible to purchase the condo with joint ownership so that the partner would be granted ownership when he passes away?

If this is so, would the partner have to provide part of the purchase price, and provide proof of bringing it in from overseas?

Grateful if anyone knows about this.

AEC makes no difference in requirements on foreign condo ownership. Demise of a partner in a joint ownership will activate legal issues relating to written will and inheritance by immediate family members.
