Hi Guys,

Went back to the Uk to get a new passport. I have an extension of stay for 1 year on a non O marriage. Got my re-entry permit before leaving.

Returned to Thailand and presented both passports at immigration. Officer transferred my permission to stay stamp into new passport with same details as in old one. Am I good to go? Is there anything else I need to do until my next extension (permission to stay)?

My wife will submit a tm30 form later today at the police station. I stayed in Pattaya for a week and returned last night.

Have I remembered to do everything?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

You need to go to the immigration office where you obtained the extension and have your stamps transferred to your new passport. Just using both passports on entry does not meet the requirement to have all your relevant stamps transferred.

You could wait until your extension but if you need to do a 90 day report before then it may not be accepted until the transfer is done.

They will transfer you most recent extension stamp and most recent entry stamp. They will do a stamp with info about your old passport and the visa you used to get the entry you extended plus transfer the stamp for that entry,

My extension falls 2 months after my next 90 day report, so that won't work. As long as I go see them before my next 90 day report, would that be OK ubonjoe?  That explains why the Imm officer put my stamp on the fifth page in to make room for the other stamps.

You could do the 90 day report and the stamp transfer during the same trip to immigration.
