What the hell is a "drug party"? A bunch of people gather together and take a yaba pill or two and wander around twitchy for 12-24 and then take another pill ?

Are they smoking crack?

I've gotten around a bit but other than some swinger parties in the 70's where there's a bowl of quaaludes or something on the table, or parties with coke on the table in the 80's , most parties are just parties and while alcohol is consumed by many people there, there's no group drug taking.

Even in the highly social atmosphere of sharing when pot-smokers get together, the point is the party, not the pot.

Are there also cigarette parties? Coffee parties?

Is this "drug party" some unique Thailand thing?
