I am about to go do some business for some time overseas. The client has just told me that they will need to get me a Work Permit so I will need to obtain an original ‘Certificate of Non-Criminal Record’ “in home country, UK, or your current staying country, Thailand, as permanent residence country”.

I’m a long time resident of Thailand, have Thailand Work Permit, but I’m not a Permanent Resident of Thailand or a Thai Citizen, but based on these link it looks like I can do with the Thai Police:

and http://pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/filedownload/infomation-service-4.pdf

Has anybody done this process with the Thai Police and could offer some comments on the process? Anybody done who doesn’t mind me sending a few queries by message?

If you are here it would be best to do the application in person at the Police Clarence Service Center.

Be sure you have this from your employer that is shown in file you posted a link to.

For work -Hire Contract/Work permit/Job offer from the employer company -Letter guarantee from the employer company

Just a letter requesting the police clearance should be enough.

It can take up to 30 days to get but some reports have said they got it in about 2 weeks.

A few years ago, when we were back in the UK for a couple of years, my wife and I became short term child carers for Social Services. Because my wife hadn't been in the UK long she had to get a Thai version of a CRB check.  She had to go to Special Branch at the Royal Thai Police in Bangkok. She had to go in person and we were there practically all day but if I remember correctly we didn't have to go back. They sent the certificate to our UK address and it took about four weeks to arrive.

Don't know if you would have to go to the same place though.

As the online service is defunct I applied in writing to the Police Clearance centre in January, requesting the Application form and enclosing a stamped reply envelope.

I am still awaiting a reply.

Perhaps better to apply in person.
