New Transport Co buses start serving Bangkok - Mae Sot route

TAK, 28 September 2016 (NNT) – The Transport Company has begun testing new VIP and first class air-conditioned passenger buses on the Bangkok - Mae Sot route, with an improved safety standard and passenger comfort.

Mae Sot Bus Terminal Director Jirawat Tananrueangkit revealed that the Transport Company has introduced the new passenger bus fleet to operate on the Bangkok - Mae Sot route. The new buses include 10 new 33-seater VIP buses, and 12 new 48-seater first class air-conditioned buses.

The new buses are all single-deck buses with an improved suspension system to provide better safety, especially on routes that traverse steep hills.

Passengers traveling on new buses will enjoy a great array of new accommodations such as free wifi internet, large TV screens, in-seat massage function, and USB ports to charge their electronic devices.

The fare on the Bangkok - Mae Sot route however remains unchanged, with a one-way VIP ticket costing 580 baht, and a one-way first class ticket costing 373 baht.

The Mae Sot Bus Terminal is now the most profitable bus terminal in the northern region, due to the high passenger traffic from Myanmar. Service expansion from Mae Sot is expected to establish new service routes to destinations in Myanmar such as Myawaddy, Kawkareik, and Hpa An in the future.
