Ms. Penprakai (aka Fon) Tiang-Ngoke (32) from Naduang, Loei has won the prestigious Body Builder Competition of Arizona, U.S.A.

Once a member of the Thai National Team, she owns the Siam Barbell fitness center in Banglamung, Pattaya.

Nong Fon said that she worked in Bangkok as fitness trainer until she graduated from University. To begin with she just wanted to stay fit and perhaps develop a six-pack.

She began taking body building seriously in 2009 and entered various competitions. In 2010 Fon won her first title and joined the National Team. Soon she had won an international competition in Holland and received a coveted ‘proguard’ award.

After which she retired from competition but made a comeback last year in order to enter the Arizona Championship, which will lead to entry into the World Championships in Las Vegas in 2017.

Until now she has been virtually unknown in her home country but, this morning, all of Thailand knows who Fon is and shares in her success. Thailand is proud of Fon’s achievements this week.

Nong Fon, said that in the beginning her family could not understand her ambitions or what she was doing but now they fully support her in every competition.

Until now she has funded all of her efforts herself and says that now she would like the Association of Thailand to support young body builders so that Thailand may be able to compete more seriously on the world stage.

What's with all the negativity?

She won, good for her.

I think someone should have a word with the competition organisers though, those medallions the women are wearing are well over the top.

Bling gone crazy...

She's from Pattaya so maybe Mr. Sharkey already knows her.

Fair play, she's been best in SE Asia, said she would come back bigger and harder.. and she has

I wouldn't mind being crushed in a vice-like grip between those thighs.

Calls to mind a troubling sequence from the movie, "Casino," but yes. Good times. At least until you blacked out.

This. is. not. a woman. This is an abomination, brought to life by steroids.

No, I think you'll find its a woman.

One with a mind of her own, who has decided she will determine her body shape according to her desires rather than societies.

More like according to a small segment of society that glamorize a physique only made possible by steroids and other unhealthy substances combined with very unhealthy dietary habits that are no different from people who suffer eating disorders as a result of poor body image.

No doubt these body builders dedicate much hard work and effort to their pursuit and its always amazing to see the limits of the human body pushed further but make no mistake...this woman has the body she does as a result of steroids as the earlier poster stated.

Thai culture offers a positive role model for men in the form of football and muay thai but very few Thai women have role models or outlets for fitness. I met a Thai Olympic gymnast at my hotel in BKK during my last visit. Her daughters are also young athletes. It was great to see this in the Thia culture and hopefully with all the new healthclubs in BKK we are seeing more females prikritize fitness.

But sports are a far healthier pursuit than the roller-coaster of body building and its unhealthy practices and goals.

Your PC is misplaced.

Your PC is misplaced.

You really should stop saying things are PC as you clearly have no idea what it means.

It is not PC to state that this woman has very right to decide on her body shape.

No one else has a say.

The consequences of her choices are hers and she has the right to make her own mistakes.

Most of the comments directed against her have been made by individuals who don't find her body type attractive.

Tough if that is the case.

They have no say.

And lets face many women put up with body types they find unattractive due to financial considerations...

Body types that are far from healthy and are filled with unhealthy [if not poisonous in some cases] substances on a regular basis.
