Nana blockade! Soi 3 sealed off as 200 police swoop and make arrests

...only if they were committing, or had committed, an offence, then the colour part becomes irrelevant.  No one was arrested for being black, that is not an arrestable offence yet.

Racial profiling is bigotry no matter how much you attempt to justify it.

The "only way"? You could decriminalise drug use, as Portugal has done very successfully

That's one idea. So what do the drug dealers on lower Suk do for employment if that happens? Regardless of the drugs many of these guys have to go because they are also in the country illegally and would simply start running other scams if you took away their current form of bread and butter.

In your dreams. Maybe when every first world country does the same then the Asians may give it some thought

That's not what you said, though, is it?

You said that every black person in Lower Sukhumvit is a drug dealer.

Can I deduce then that every white person hanging around the street bars for hours on end is a drug user?

Street bars?  There aren't any.

They're only arrested if they've committed an offence, drug dealing or otherwise and that is done on the basis of evidence, not colour, unless you're suggesting that the charge is "being black".

They were targeting people on the basis of their colour.

That is racism.

OMG :shock1:

You couldn't sound more clueless if you tried.

So you think that the drug dealers created their market, do you?

Do you think they went out and deliberately got their customers interested in coke or whatever crap they sell?

So it's not the drug dealers fault that they are selling drugs? They are being pressured to do so by those horrible despicable users?

I'm sure there used to be a clown smiley on this forum? Where did it go?

When you can face facts, stop using the race card and understand how the drug scene works come back to me, until then stop wasting my time

While I am in favor of conceding the war on drugs is as bad an idea as prohibition, I can't imagine the scoundrels selling drugs in Bangkok are going to just go out and get legit jobs.  Drugs?  Pretty much 100% voluntary.  I'm not sure their alternative career choices would be.  Take, for example, muggings, kidnapping or burglaries.

You're assuming that their prime motive is to stay in Thailand so they have looked for a source of income that enables them to do so. Lose that source of income and they will find another one so they can stay in Thailand. What are you basing that assumption on?

So, let's have some fun with numbers...

12,500 murders in the USA each year, and 51% is 6,400 committed by blacks  (rounding for simplicity).

300,000,000 million people in the USA so 13% is 39 million blacks

6,400 murders committed by 39 million people is one murder for every 6,100 black folks.

So I quake in my boots every time I get close to one of them...  Maybe we should arrest them all.  So we can all feel safer.  Well, 87% of us anyway.  Then we'll go after the Hispanics (or the Asians).

And after that u can go after the blond white guy. Then the red white guy. Then the black haired. After that the ones with long nose. Then short nose. Then the skinny ones. Im sure there are hard fact statistics proving most white killers are NOT fat!!!

He's not referring to the whole of Thailand, it's clearly obvious that Soi 3 is the area he meant.  To answer your question, though, why not arrest every Thai that is committing crime also, where is the stupidity in that?

Try reading all relevant posts jogging in on a debate.

That is not what was meant.

So what,  If they catch criminals what's the problem?  Is racism any worse than drug dealing?

Of course it's their fault they deal drugs

They make a conscious decision to supply the demand that already exists.

They didn't sit in their homeland thinking, "Hmm, lets go to Lower Sukhumvit and create a culture of drug dependency among the dopey farangs who've been wasting their time with Carlsberg and Johnnie Walker"

I can face facts just fine. I just took issue with your dumb generalization.

Nonsense.

The vast majority of crime in Thailand is committed by Thais.

Are you suggesting every Thai is arrested in this stupid manner?

Guess what , the Police will probably also search dark skinned Thais ( the poors ) not the rich ( Super white skin ) so in the end it does not change much

Or chopping people up and storing them in freezers or setting up boiler rooms or dealing in child porn like the ostensibly squeaky clean farangs here do.

You must be naive if you do not know that the Africans come to Thailand for an easy source of income. Their prime motive is to earn money and Thailand is just the place that enables to do this easily. You tell me the motive for a Nigerian to come here and over stay there visa and deal drugs?  Nigerian is just a prime example so don't go into a hizzy saying not all of them deal drugs.

Racistic profiling is only good when it's not against farang. But oh boy when some poor white longnose gets confronted with racism in Los. The shock. The drama. The disapproval. Lol. And the unmainstream press mentioned before loves it!!! Simple minded people. The best company ever in online discussion!

Racial profiling is always uncalled for.

What skin color are 90% of terrorists? As law enforcement eg CIA With limited resources, you can't track everyone would you be looking for blue eyed blondes and Christians the same way as Muslims?

Use your brain dude

No, it is racist bigotry to use racial profiling to arrest someone.

Your relentless virtue signalling is getting very tiresome.

The Bangkok police know for a fact that many of the Africans hanging around the Nana area are into the drugs trade and other forms of malfeasance, at a much higher rate than other ethnicities.

They got a 20% success rate of those they checked, which is very high for a random sweep of the streets. If they did it again tonight, they'd get 20% once more.

It's called the real world, somewhere you should make a note to visit one of these days.

Precisely my point. They come here for an easy source of income. Take that away and they'll go somewhere else. They won't look for another easy source of income here. By the way it's "hissy" not "hizzy" (or even "jizzy")

Is it really? When was the last time a white man or a family going on holiday attempted to bring an airliner down? Fact is the western security forces would love to use profiling in order to make the world a safer place but are stopped from doing so by the bleeding heart, yellow livered liberals that run society.

Yes they do know that many of the Africans in the area are into the drug trade but Lumpini police are complicit in the business.

They supply a number of those dealers with the product they've confiscated in drug busts.

That's why they've been operating with impunity for so long.

Also, they're under strict instruction NOT to deal to Thais.
