President Obama plots a course to Mars and back by the 2030s

WASHINGTON: -- US President Barack Obama has revealed that the United States is working in partnership with private companies to send and expedition to Mars and back by the 2030s.

 

‘‘We are working with our commercial partners to build new habitats that can sustain and transport astronauts on long-duration missions in deep space. These missions will teach us how humans can live far from Earth,something we’ll need for the long journey to Mars,” he wrote in a new Op-Ed for CNN.

 

As the president expressed his fascination for space exploration the joint European Space Agency/Roscosmos “ExoMars“https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ExoMars mission arrives at the Red planet at the weekend, before sending the Schiaparelli lander down to the surface of the planet.

This lying two-faced POTUS (the worst ever), has shut down the US space program over the last 8 years - and now he makes comments about Mars??

 

There was a NASA program to replace the Shuttle Program, but Obama cancelled it.  This incompetent POTUS has caused the failure of all shuttle follow-on programs, by refusing to properly fund them. One by one, each program after the Shuttle Program has ended when the development plans became too expensive - according to Obama and the Dems.  Americans visiting the Space Station have to use Russian rockets since 2011 !!  

 

The duplicity and lying that this current crop of Dems exhibit, would make JFK blush (the one and only decent Democrat POTUS).

yes and the general is going to rid thailand of corruption by 2035. he can make all the bulls#it statements he wants now as he is about to leave office and hand over to trump. that is as long as people can get over the face that he is a man and men like to grab woman by the p#$$y. i suspect trump will get us to mars a lot quicker as long as he does not blow trillions of dollars on foreign wars.

would make a lot more sense to start a colony on mars and not have to do the return flight. subcontracting the job out to china might actually be a good idea, donald will figure it out.

While Mars maybe a good plan for the future, I think it is the wrong place to set sites on right now. I say let's look into setting up temporary then permanent moon bases. The moon is a lot closer and far easier to get to and better communication coordination. I think the first country that can setup and begin excavating/manufacturing on the moon will have a leg up on those just shooting of rockets to far off planets. We can hop to the moon, setup a base, then maybe start mining asteroids and then move to other planets.
