Apple recognizes UTCC for ICT use

BANGKOK, 12 October 2016 (NNT) – Apple Incorporated has awarded the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) for its use of information and communication technology in education.

Vice President for Apple Incorporated’s Education Division John Couch has traveled to Thailand to award UTCC with the Apple Distinguished School award, recognizing the institute as the world’s second top school in terms of information and communication technology usage.

The award follows UTCC instructors developing over 700 lessons for the iTunes U program, attracting large numbers of students.

UTCC Dean Saowanee Thairoongroj elaborated that the university’s iTunes U courses were second in the world in terms of student selection, especially its Digital Hybrid Learning System programs, which allow for self study anywhere. She noted that a benefit of the programs is that they also promote digital literacy among students and set them up to thrive in the coming digital economy.
