Three foreigners and a Cambodian woman were arrested and charged in Phnom Penh yesterday by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for alleged drug trafficking and use, according to police.

The three foreign men were identified as Andrew John Sloman, 50, who is British, Safari Saari Ian Wood Berry, 40, an American, and Chaponot Cyril Guy, 46, who is French, according to Major Duong Vichetre, a police officer in the Interior Ministry’s anti-drug department. He named the Cambodian woman as 28-year-old Chhang Sreypheak and said all four were charged with “drug trafficking and use.”

“They were arrested by our anti-drug police forces while they were smoking drugs in a guesthouse in Phsar Thmey 2 commune,” he said. He added that after the raid at the Sorya Phkay 9 guesthouse in the capital’s Daun Penh district, a small package of crystal methamphetamine weighing 1.14 grams and other drug-related paraphernalia were seized.

I don't understand some of the posts on this topic. You go to a foreign country, procure and smoke crack crystal meth and get arrested when you are caught. No one should be surprised, there isn't anything to be outraged about. Break the law, get caught, now it is time to explore the Cambodian legal system up close and personal. Easier to just not do the drugs in the first place, or go to somewhere it is legal to use (if that is your thing).

Suck it up, time to face the consequences for your actions (in a foreign country).
