I saw a post dating back to 2012 where Andy Crosby imported six Emu eggs to incubate. Is anyone aware of Emu farming in Thailand?  Thanks.

Must have been  10-12 years ago  we went to  a Thai  show  and  CP  where they with some some  Ostrich   stakes ,advertising  Ostrich meat  as low fat / cholesterol  ,at the same time trying to promote   Ostrich   farming ,one guy near  had a go  ,at the same time  using his farm  for "agriculture  Tourism", people come and  pay  to look at his Ostriches   ,he did it  ,for a few years  then gave up ,last time I drove past his place  ,he was growing  Palm  trees .

As you would expect in a very conservative Thailand  regarding  food,  Ostrich farming  never really took off ,so I  herd  what  meat found its way  on to the market was  expensive ,with a few outlets , ie.  mainly in  expensive shops  in Bangkok ,some farms had big heath  problems ,and one guy made the Thai  newspapers  when he got kicked by an  Ostrich ,that would not do  they  PR a lot of good .

Back to the  OP's  question,  I would say Emu's went the same way ,difficult to rear  and finding a  market  for the  meat ,I would say  it would be like rearing  good quality  cattle  ,you make your money by selling  stock on  for  breeding ,  not for the meat trade .

I bought some frozen ostrich steak in Makro a couple of weeks ago.which I am pretty sure was produced locally. Quite expensive. About 500 Baht/kilo I think but absolutely delicious. Just like top good fillet steak so worth the money.
