Spanish mum, 62, shows off new baby

 

 

LUGO: -- Lina Alvarez is no ordinary mother.

 

At 62, and thanks to medical science, the Spaniard has just given birth to her third daughter – and this, a decade after she had her second baby aged 52, with IVF.

 

A doctor herself, the new mum told reporters in Lugo, northwestern Spain, that she couldn’t be happier. She will be breastfeeding the new arrival, also named Lina, as well as giving her little girl bottle feeds.

That's great for you, but how about the high probability of a motherless teenage kid? These old folks having children is just wrong and selfish, imo. Buy a puppy if you want to feel good.

Ask the kid in a few years if he wants to give up his life because some people don't agree with the mother's decision. I doubt it.

Average life expectancy for a 60 year old Spanish female is around 87 years. For a 62 year old it is a little higher.

 

With luck she will be around to see her grandchildren.

She's hardly old at 62 even though a bit above average age for 3rd child. Presumably she had the pregnancy monitored to avoid risk. 

What other constraints would you like to put on 'old' people? Logan's Run next?
